Warm Cherry Legs, a cross-legged base anchored by Maple wedges; the only glue in this table holds two asymmetrical butterfly joints in place. These in turn strengthen and solidify the Black Walnut slab top. Indecisive to the last, Moyer chose to make the base of this coffee table reversible, simply pick up the top, turn the base upside down and hide the through-wedged mortise and tenon a bit more under the overhanging edge of the top surface. The base, either way, sits securely mortised to the members of the base beneath. Meanwhile, the cherry of the base floats somewhere between floor and tabletop. Walnut grain crowns the whole, a completely unique cross section of a tree.
The Elinor High Table measures approximately 40 ”W x 40”L x 16”H
